It's not often that we think of the people who design gear as recording engineers. This CD features a bunch of artists from Duluth, Minnesota, doing Bob Dylan covers - which guarantees that the songwriting is top-notch even though I've never heard of any of the players besides Low. The real treat here is that the entire recording was engineered by Dave Hill, the brains behind the Crane Song (and early Summit) gear, at Inland Sea Recording in Superior, WI. He is obviously a great engineer, drawing spacious sounds with clear highs and deep lows out of a wide variety of musicians and styles. It's just reassuring to know that some gear designers are out there, making records like the rest of us!
