Andrew Roberts: Behind The Gear at Purple Audio

While motorcycling through the Appalachian Mountains, on my way to the 2015 Summer NAMM show in Nashville, I made an overnight stop in Jim Thorpe, PA, one of the most beautiful towns in the U.S., according to several national publications. Inside the former firehouse in the historic downtown district, next door to the beautifully restored 400-seat Mauch Chunk Opera House, is Purple Audio. The craftsmanship that owner Andrew Roberts puts into his pro audio product line also shows in the many details of his ongoing renovation. I walked through grand doors with handmade iron fittings to tour his shop and the adjacent theatre, before sitting down in his control room/lounge for an interview.
