Adrian Quesada: Boleros Psicodélicos II

We have kept up with Adrian Quesada through the years in the pages of Tape Op [#94], and he has been a two time guest on the Tape Op Podcast [Ep.#36, Ep.#77 ].

You would think that his work producing, writing, mixing, and touring with his Grammy-winning band, Black Pumas [Ep.#99], would find Adrian musically content and , uh, slightly busy.

Thankfully, this is not the case. He has just released the companion album to 2022's Boleros Psicodélicos, Boleros Psicodélicos II. This new release picks up where the first left off, and is collection of hazy, '60s and '70s inspired, well... psychedelic boleros. The grooves are laced with exotic reverb-soaked melodies, strings, and dream state textures. If this is what tripping in 2025 sounds like, my bags are packed and a one-way ticket purchased!

Boleros Psicodélicos II features many artists from the Latin alternative music scene, including Cuco, iLe, Angélica Garcia, Ed Maverick, Hermanos Gutiérrez, Mireya Ramos, Trish Toledo, Monsieur Periné, Gepe, Natalia Clavier, and Daymé Arocena.
