To accompany the new documentary film, Eno, a career spanning soundtrack has also been released. It is a 17-track album that dips into many eras of his 50 year solo career. We recommend checking out all of Eno's solo recordings, collaborations, and his extensive production work, but this is a good overview that incudes some of his recordings with Cluster, John Cale, David Byrne, Roger Eno, and more.
The original Eno footage included in the video for "Stiff" was shot in the early 90’s and finally unearthed by Gary Hustwit in the making of the Eno film. The song is included in both the film and official soundtrack album.

I've interviewed and enjoyed Alan Parsons' company a number of times over the years, and a while back he even cornered me at an AES conference and videotaped a quick interview about Tape Op. He claimed to be putting together a video about recording....
I was fortunate enough to get an Apogee Duet 2 recently. This device hooks up to your computer's USB port (and is powered from there) and allows you to monitor audio. I'm not gonna go into all the details, see our review of the original Duet. At...

Berklee College of Music sponsored a recent Tape Op newsletter and it got me thinking about music schools. In terms of my personal recording path, I learned on my own through trial and error and via mentors. You can read a little bit about that...
My pal just sent me this awesome piece written by a screenwriter about people asking him to read their scripts. And yes, I think anyone who works in whatever given field can understand this. Damned if you do, and an asshole if you don't. And of...
No secret that I am a big fan of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. They first caught my ear in 2017 with their Turkish Psych-Rock flavored album, Flying Microtonal Banana, and I have been a fan ever since. If you asked me what the definitive KGLW...

It may not be obvious, but as this magazine’s graphic designer, the recently passed Vaughan Oliver was a major influence on the look of Tape Op Magazine. Being someone who’s not involved with social media, and as...
