Now that the Tape Op iPad app is available, we've been trying to figure out the best ways to get the magazine to other digital formats. Expansion to other full-fledged tablets (Android, etc) is a fairly straightforward - if laborious - process, in that those formats readily accept full PDFs, and therefore can deliver the magazine without having to alter the layouts or content at all.
We've gotten a sizeable amount of requests for delivery on more EPUB-oriented formats such as Kindle and iBooks. This EPUB format is much more akin to simple HTML, and as such cannot really accommodate the complex kinds of layouts most print magazines have without turning it into a big blocky mess. So our question is: would any of you be interested in purchasing text-only versions of new issues and/or blocks of past issues made for EPUB devices??
