I came across Blitzen Trapper's self-titled debut album back in 2003, and have followed their career and counted myself as a fan since. I interviewed the band's leader, songwriter, and producer Eric Earley about his 2020 release, Holy Smokes Future Jokes in Tape Op #147, and we also chatted about the band's underground hit, "Furr" for the Tape Op Podcast.

Blitzen Trapper's new release 100's of 1000's, Millions of Billions (Yep Roc) is a logical progression from Holy Smokes Future Jokes, with '70s psych-rock flavored writing and production. It's a fantasic collection that can (and should) be enjoyed as an album, but sure, go ahead and throw tracks into a playlist! This album will immediately go into heavy rotation in my house.

The album was produced by Earley and recorded at guitarist Nathan Vanderpool's studio in rural Washington.
