An Osees album with no guitars??? Yes, you heard that right, but fans of the band need not worry! SORCS 80 has all of the experimental punk rock attitude and delivery the band is known for, only on this album it's framed by heavy synths, bass, drums and percussion. Do I hear distorted saxophones? The drums are lo-fi, blown out at times, deliciously crunchy and the dirty synths fill void of electric guitars seamlessly.

SORCS 80 is a fresh sounding release with hints some of my favorite bands like Devo, The Beastie Boys, Can, War, and The Cars.

We interviewed Osees frontman and songwriter John Dwyer in issue #117, and you can read that interview here.
