Rose Colored Moon: An Evening Tribute to Elliott Smith in Film and Music

March 19th in Portland, Oregon, at The Tomorrow Theater, this event is sponsored by Tape Op editor/founder Larry Crane's Jackpot! Recording Studio. Get tickets here.

"Elliott Smith touched the lives of many with his music and artistry. As part of PAM CUT’s March music month, we are presenting this special event in tribute to Elliott and his legacy. The evening will feature two rarely screened short films, Steve Hanft’s Strange Parallel, and Jem Cohen’s Lucky Three, both featuring Elliott, along with music videos by Ross Harris, images from JJ Gonson, stories from local musician and Elliott’s close friend Sean Croghan, presentation from Larry Crane, owner of Jackpot! Recording Studio, founder/editor of Tape Op Magazine, and archivist for Elliott Smith’s Estate, and performances of Elliott’s music by Portland’s own Elliott Smith tribute band Rose Parade. Emceeing the evening is the producer of the feature documentary about Elliott’s life, Heaven Adores You, Kevin Moyer. Presented in partnership with Jackpot! Recording Studio."

Larry Crane, owner of Jackpot! Recording Studio, founder/editor of Tape Op Magazine, and archivist for Elliott Smith’s Estate will present a short slide show and narration featuring photos he and his father took while Larry and Elliott built Jackpot! in 1997.
