Jimmy Douglass Collectibles Auction on Wax Poetics

Uh-oh Shaggy, hide the checkbook. I was largely unaware of WaxPoetics until I saw they were hosting an auction of some of Jimmy "The Senator" Douglass' [Tape Op #130] items. What caught my eye out of the gate was a Telefunken U 47 that was used on the sessions for Aretha Franklin's “I Say a Little Prayer” and "Young, Gifted and Black". Additionally there are listings for Jimmy's vintage UREI 1176LN, Focusrite ISA 430 Producer Pack Channel Strip, and "The Senator" stereo vari-mu compressor.

In addition to the gear listings, there are many other interesting items including platinum album plaques, master studio tapes from artists like Chaka Khan, Junior Walker and Howlin' Wolf, and Les McCann, and much more. The auction for Jimmy Douglass items ends June 28th.

Music fans of all sorts will find the WaxPoetics website a black hole for browsing music memorabilia, and it's the perfect site for finding a unique gift for a friend or family member. Check it all out at waxpoetics.com.
