Remember the interview with New Zealand's David Kilgour a while back? This is what all the fuss is about. The two disc set starts with their early singles and EPs, 4-track heaven of grinding pop songs with huge hooks, much of it duplicating the Compilation record. This is one of the bands that convinced me I could record great music for cheap and that someone could start a recording magazine that didn't have to focus only on big studios. Disc two covers tracks from their "reunion" period albums with some flexi disc/7" goodies thrown in. This has been a favorite around the studio and the house. (www.mergerecords.com)
