Full-bore, crunchy one-man-band home-recorded (Kennedy Space Station) masterpiece. He used one Audio-Technica stereo condenser mic and three SM57s through a Tascam M108 board through a 20-bit Layla converter to a 400 MHz Pentium II PC onto Vegas Video (!) for the basic tracking, with some drums done in Fruity Loops. Overdubs were done on a Dell 900 MHz laptop through the 1/8" input, as was mixing. Mastering was done in WaveLab. Vocals were on a SM57, Rode 100 or the Audio-Technica. "Brain in a Room" is one of the coolest tunes I've heard in a while. An exciting rock record with fun sounds. On a budget! (www.sealevelrecords.com)
