They haven't made too many records since their early '90s reunion, and I was always suspicious of how they might stand next to the classics. Well, this new CD surprised me a lot. Produced by current bassist Tony Barber and recorded by Harvey Birrell at Southern Studios in London, this record actually rocks damn hard. Guitars are loud, drums crack, and songs are strong. I might just be excited, but I think there's a few new "classics" in this seventh album. Mastered by Duncan Cowell at Sound Mastering in London. (www.mergerecords.com)
