Matt Ward has been getting much acclaim for his brooding songs and dark, husky voice. These songs were mostly recorded by Portland's Mike Coykendall at his Blue Room home studio (in his cool-sounding attic!) on an Otari MX-70 16-track. Various guests help out (like Howe Gelb), and Adam Selzer at Type Foundry recorded a song too. It's a cool, dark record - plus there's a weird, mopey cover of Bowie's "Let's Dance".

Tape Op is a bi-monthly magazine devoted to the art of record making.
