Emmylou continues her collaborations with producer Malcolm Burn while delving further into her own songwriting. The record is sparse where it needs to be and is a beautiful listen. Dueling left/right drums make for some heavy headphone candy, and Daniel Lanois dropped in for some backing parts and co-wrote a song. Many other folks helped out, including Buddy and Julie Miller, Ethan Johns and Kevin Salem. Malcolm (interviewed in #35) does a great job, as do engineers Josh Muncy, Joe West and Todd Vos. Recorded at Le Maison Bleu in Kingston, NY and various Nashville studios. Mastered by the omnipresent Greg Calbi at Sterling.
