Tiny Tim: I’ve Never Seen a Straight Banana - Rare Moments: Volume 1

REVIEWED BY Larry Crane

ISSUE NO. 77 February 11, 2014

This album took many years to surface. It began with recordings by Richard Barone (issue # 54) made of Tiny in 1976 in a Travelodge Motel and at Recnac Recording in Florida. Restoration (and mastering) were performed by Warren Russell-Smith and Steve Rosenthal (issue #66) at Magic Shop. New overdubs on a few songs were recorded in 2009 at Shelter Island (with Steve Addabbo - look for an interview soon!) and Fourth Floor Studios in NYC. It's a wonderful document of a very unique individual and the songs he loved. (www.ccmusic.com) -LC
