"It's Like Room Service But For Recording Gear": Larry Crane Tries Out Ace Hotel's Studio A Program
Ace Hotel has long been a favorite among artist/studio types, so when we heard the news that they were going to beginoffering quality recording gear as a literal hotel service, it made sense.

Featured behind their tailored front desk you'll find a closet filled with sound making and recording devices — audio interfaces, synths, mics, effects pedals and tablet computers loaded with the right apps. Moreover, the gear brands they offer are familiar and trusted — Apogee, Moog, etc — and borrowing this equipment is free of charge, and encouraged for everyone from professionals to novices.
From 2011 to 2013, our own Larry Crane had actually already been collaborating with Ace on a series of live recording sessions with their Portland hotel location. For the Studio A launch at Ace Hotel Downtown Los Angeles, they invited him down for an inaugural recording session with old friends and LA indie rock mainstays Goldenboy, and caught the whole thing on video.
Check out the Ace Hotel Studio A page here for a list of gear, contact details, and a bunch of very cool pictures.
