New Album from Caribou: Honey

For his new release, Honey, Caribou's Dan Snaith (Tape Op #35, #105) wears his Detroit techno influences on his sleeve, and uses AI to explore and reimagine vocals as well as manipulate his voice, to create an album of dance tracks that would be at home in mid-'90s dance clubs as well as at a present-day EDM festival.

There are Giorgio Morodor vibes on tracks like "Volume" and plenty of driving four-on-the floor beats with bubbling basslines throughout. Tempos on the whole are edgy, sometimes hyper and unsettled, but it maintains a grooviness that will keep the dancefloor full of undulating bodies.
