New FKA twigs: Eusexua

FKA twigs has long been a semi-underground favorite, and it would seem that her goal has never been to crack the mainstream at the expense of an artistic expression. With her new album, Eusexua, the door to an even larger audience may be cracked open. With four on the floor beats and grooves that would be welcome on the dancefloor, FKA twigs is able to deliver intimate and personal lyrics in a setting more recognizable to club goers and pop music consumers. The title track "Eusexua" pumps along with filtered and bubbling synth lines, complimented by a tender vocal delivery reminicient of Tracey Thorn's vocals on Massive Attack's "Teardrop." "Girl Feels Good" has touches of early Imogen Heap and grooves along with late-'90s dance music production vibes. Much of the album sits in this groovy, easy to listen to pocket, but there are also tracks like "Drums of Death", "24hr Dog", and "Room of Fools" that dip a toe into the altered reality, melting and unsettled world of some of FKA Twigs earlier work.

Eusexua was produced by FKA twigs, Koreless, Sasha, Jeff Bhasker, and Bapari, engineered by Jonny Leslie and Joseph Hartwell Jones, mixed by Manny Marroquin and Jon Castelli, and mastered by Dale Becker.
