Prog rock played with hardcore intensity. Sledgehammer metronome rhythms and guitar student scale charts galore. This is the kind of stuff that can easily choke on it's own pretension, but these guys manage to make it sound pretty good. Partly since there is a sense of having a good time within the dense tuneage, and also a willingness for experimentation (such as the track using only a typewriter, a phone, and a Phase II). If virtuoso tweaker rock is your bag then this disc should be spinning on your system. Oh yeah, the band engineered the recordings at the drummer's house!
