Highly reminiscent of a Teo Macero or Manfred Eicher production, these recordings posses an antiseptic cleanness that is both beautiful and eerie. The music too lies somewhere between 60's soul jazz and electronic experimentalism similar to Miles Davis' In A Silent Way or 70's Terje Rypdal. The group contains members of Village of Savoonga, and the CD was recorded by Mario Thaler who also worked on Savoonga's Philipp Schatz. But where that record buzzes with a warm lo-fi aesthetic, Tied and Tickled Trio groove in a cold, spare manner much like the dancing light of a flickering candle.
