Kenny Blume collabs with Weezer, Wednesday, Nate Smith, and more with new tracks and videos
We’re hard at work here at Tape Op HQ on our July issue, which features an interview with super busy producer Kenny Blume, but it’s going to be a few more weeks, so in the meantime, here are a few recently released tracks that Kenny has been working on:
Fathers is a new collective that, in addition to Kenny, features Kiefer on keyboards, CARRTOONS on bass, and Nate Smith (Tape Op # 143) on drums. The project apparently came about as Kenny was finishing up wiring his Putnam Hill studio, and asked his friends above to come help him test the gear and room out. Turns out everything worked fine and they ended up with a record from the session that will be out July 10th on Blue Note.
When we chatted with Kenny, he was in the middle of working on a new LP with Weezer. We already shared a track from the new LP HERE, but there’s a new video out from the LP that also features Wednesday’s Karly Hartzman on vocals. It’s a fun watch!
Make sure your Tape Op subscription is current (or sign up now, it’s free!) by July 1st so you’ll get the new issue with Kenny’s interview in it mailed to your doorstep:
