This is an American version of the English mag. It's really aimed at total "recording industry" wankers who wouldn't know a good tune if it bit them on the ass, and if the pages of "News & Products" with the stupid "who's the new head of product development" bull doesn't tip you off nothing will. But as with most of these recording mags there's always something interesting in between all the crap. In this issue it's a brief chat with David Blackmer of Earthworks (and the former DB of DBX!) where he talks about the necessity of sound reproduction in the 20kHz to 200kHz range. Remember, humans can only hear up to 20kHz.... but I'm not saying he's a kook, because studies are finding that the high frequencies that we don't hear affect the sound of what we do hear. What they don't mention here is the way digital recording ignores all of this....
