Maybe I've been hiding under a rock, but I recently found out there are replacement wheels for rolling studio (or office) chairs. No more "clack-clack-clack" across the floor, or the need to keep a rug under my chair to protect the surface. My chairs now glide smoothly across my wood and laminate floors without fear of damage.

There are several products on Amazon that fit the bill. I purchased the set of five Toplimit 3-inch replacement wheels and installed them in about five minutes. I used my largest flathead screwdriver to gently pry the original plastic wheels off my chair. The new casters, which are made from soft polyurethane, and resemble those found on inline skates, popped in easily. These new wheels did raise the overall height of my chair slightly, so I had to adjust for that, but the chair moves so much smoother and quieter now – I ended up upgrading all of the office-style chairs in my studio and home!
