Welcome to issue #87 of Tape Op.

I've been taking on a lot of recording and mixing sessions this year. In between these sessions I work on this magazine. That doesn't leave much room for the rest of my life. I'm lucky to have an awesome wife, and she thankfully has my back when I'm too busy to wash my own dishes, feed the cat or deal with laundry. But sometimes I feel the time just slipping away. Friends wait patiently for an opening in order to hang out. Finding a hole in my schedule to fix things around the house or return phone calls and emails seems impossible. And, almost as bad, I haven't had a chance to work on any of my own music or play in a band in years. Why did I build a studio in the first place? Oh, yeah! I'm hoping to get back to doing some music soon. It's great working on other folks' records, but it'd be fun to pick up the bass again!Making time. We all have to make allowances in our schedules to create music, as well as to find the space to work with others on projects. It's rewarding. It's why we're here doing this crazy music stuff! I'm going to continue to strive to includeallthe things I love to do. Thanks for taking a moment to read our magazine, and hopefully you will find time to do projects that make you happy.-Larry Crane,Editor "I do not count the time, for who knows where the time goes?" -Sandy Denny
