Nilüfer Yanya's LP Painless was one of my faves of 2022 with its blend of guitar based songwriting, her unique singing voice, and forward leaning production and arrangements. I'm pretty over the Roland Jazz Chorus guitar tones, but she won me over with the way she uses them on this album.

This live set on From The Basement is a great intro if you have not heard Painless:
Her new record, My Method Actor, was produced entirely with Will Archer (now known as Wilma Archer) who produced most of Painless, though that LP had a few other producers including Andrew Sarlo (Tape Op #134). Both albums were mixed by Nathan Boddy (#146).
My Method Actor feels like an evolution forward, but its also more accessible, with many of the tracks having a pop feel to them. There is more focus on her vocals, fewer "guitar hero" moments, and elements like string arrangements.
