New Dawn Landes Track

Check out the new track, "Domestic Workers Song," from Dawn Landes. The song was originally written in 1939 but it's still relevant and timely, and the recording is a fun sing-a-long romp with nods to The Band and the upstate NY music scene where producer Josh Kaufman is based. The song is a companion piece to The Liberated Woman's Songbook that Landes and Kaufman released earlier this year, with tracks that were composed as far back as 1830 and that cover a decade and a half up to the track "Liberation, Now!," written in 1970. The production is loose and fun, but also polished and sonically hi-fi and a fun listen throughout.

Larry interviewed Dawn back in Tape Op #80, and since then Dawn has become a contributor to Tape Op, and done interviews with Linda Perry and Josh Kaufman among other folks. I met Josh when he was touring with Dawn about a decade ago when they played Davis, CA, so it's nice to see them working together again! -JB
